We also have to charge a small travel fee which is based on distance from our Alpaca Ranch. The reservations system will show you exactly what a reservation will cost.

Our experience says No! Alpacas are very peaceful, agreeable animals. They're well adapted to being around humans. We work extensively with our alpacas to help them enjoy different people including children. That being said, everyone can have an 'off' day and alpacas are no different. Alpacas that are feeling uncertain or feisty might kick if you startle them from behind. We explain how to safely enjoy our lovable alpacas at every event and party!

Did you know that alpacas ARE camels? They are! At least they're in the same family as camels; and so are llamas. Just like their camelid cousins, alapacs will spit if they think you're up to no good. We only chose our most domesticated and calm alpacas to be Party Alpacas and we work with them extensively to be pretty easy going. We would be VERY surprised if a Party Alpaca spit at someone during an event! Now if it did happen, any kids around would probably get a very good laugh out of it. (Particularly the boys.)

The biggest difference is size. Alpacas and llamas are so closely related that they can even have babies sometimes. We have both llamas and alpacas and love them all. (But we don't let them have babies together!) The main differences we see is that alpacas are smaller than llamas and have much more luxurious fiber (hair). Both species belong to the Camelid family with their even larger cousin... camels.

Yes they do. Each spring, we shear our alpacas. It isn't their favorite thing, but they feel so much better in the hotter weather when their fiber (hair) has been cut down. They sure look different when they suddenly don't have 3 to 6 inches of fiber on them!

Alpacas are super interesting and fun! With their big, beautiful eyes and funny long necks, alpacas are quite the conversation piece. Nearly everyone that pets our Party Alpacas are astonished at how they feel. In the late fall and winter, they are the softest animal you'll ever pet! In the spring and summer, they almost feel like they have a thick carpet on their back. Alpacas are very different than any animal most people have been around!

Right in the center of Utah. The ranch where the alpacas live is quite literally at the geological center of Utah. They live on a 10-acre ranch called Robyn's Ranch. Not all of the alpacas at the ranch get to be Party Alpacas. So far, only the alpacas that have been born and raised at Robyn's Ranch have made the cut to be Party Alpacas! The ranch is in the Central Utah mountains of Sanpete County, Utah and is only accessible by dirt roads. The alpacas have a guardian llamas and a pack of dogs that protect them from predators when they're out of their pens and enjoying sunny days grazing in their big pastures.

Once each year. Alpaca moms are pregnant for just shy of one year. Their babies are called Cria. The moms will usually give birth in the mid-morning to early-afternoon. The babies are up and walking around in minutes. Within a few days the cria are racing around having fun... and they are really fast!

If the venue is big. The Party Alpacas can go indoors and will feel just fine in large, open rooms. They don't like stairs but can tolerate an elevator. For indoor parties, a large open area like a basketball court or dance hall is great. In such cases, we set-up a little 10' x 10' area under a pop-up canopy and put down a carpet for them to stand on. Alpaca feet are actually padded so they won't damage flooring.

Yes. Party Alpacas are great at birthday parties for little kids (and big kids too). We have some rules about how many small children can be right up next to the alpacas at a time, but everyone will get a chance to see and pet the alpacas. Our newest baby alpaca Storm actually prefers very small children over adults still! Most children and absolutely mesmerized and enchanted by our Party Alpacas... and so are most adult 'kids' too!

Yes. The Party Alpacas regularly travel all over the state of Utah and enjoy doing it.

It works great both ways! For children's parties, the Party Alpacas are often the 'main event' and they LOVE the attention. But it works equally well to be a quite side-attraction that guests can wander over and enjoy for 10 minutes as part of a larger gathering.

You bet! Our Party Alpacas can dress to the nines for a formal fund-raiser or grand ball. We just need to know the type of event and if there are theme colors we should match.
